As a 501(c)(3) organization, we are raising money to offer a full scholarship to those who are in a Reentry and/or Recovery program, to attend One Stop Beauty School and become a licensed Nail Technician. The foundation’s mission is to select a "Lotus Scholar" to learn a skill and earn an honest living, while finding their purpose in life: helping others feel beautiful.
The scholarship is named after the beautiful and resilient lotus flower, which has a life cycle unlike any other plant. With its roots latched in mud, it submerges every night into river water and miraculously re-blooms the next morning, sparklingly clean. In many cultures, this process associates the flower with rebirth and spiritual enlightenment. |
The hopeful story of the lotus is remarkably similar to that of Olivia Mae Fleming a founding member, who has recently pass away. Olivia struggled with drug addiction for many years and served time in jail—she was fragile and unsure of her next steps. Through a mentorship with Bibi, Olivia found passion, confidence, and motivation. She started a successful career in the beauty field, and within two years, she purchased her first car and moved into her first apartment on her own. Mournfully, she took her own life after a psychosis relapse on April 15th, 2021.
